With an existing ducted system that had stopped working due to age, we were called out to a commercial business in Brisbane City to provide a quote to supply and install a replacement ducted system.
The job was for a café with indoor and outdoor dining. The customer was impressed with the ease of the installation and exceedingly pleased with the professional manner in which the team installed the replacement ducted system.
Here is a bit more about the job and what was involved:
Before the new system was installed, we had to:
- Decommission all existing air conditioning components.
- De-energise and make the area safe from future problems.
- Remove and slide the old out of the way – old system to remain in ceiling cavity due to large components.
- Quote to supply and install new FDYQ250LCV1 25KW premium inverter ducted air conditioner to café. Installation to commence through fresh air grill on the back side of kitchen.
Our Installation Process
After clearing away any old components, this is the process we followed to install this new ducted system:
- Secure and supported in ceiling space with threaded rod.
- All new pipe, interconnect and drains to be installed.
- Condensation drains to exit building into storm water or under kitchen sink.
- Safety drain to be installed under indoor unit and exit ceiling for servicing purposes.
- All existing flex to remain the same, connected into new exact air boxes for controlled airflow.
- New plenum to suit new indoor machine.
- Duct housing to be installed up service wall for ceiling entry.
- Outdoor condenser to be located in back eating area corner.
- Large enclosure to be made around for visibility. Large airflow shoot to be custom made for directional airflow up and out over carpark.
- No zoned system, Daikin back lit wall controller to be installed where existing are.
- 3-phase electrical circuit to be installed from current distribution board at front entrance room.
- Protected by a 3-phase circuit breaker and isolator for easy shut down procedure.
- Commission and test before energising.
- Provide 5 Year Warranty on air conditioner and installation.
